Small Update

1 min read
Hey there!  Not too much in the way of news...

I've been lucky enough in the last couple of weeks to be approached to do some magazine photography.  I won't say anymore about it, until I know the final verdict, but it's really quite exciting and I'm hoping to be able to share some tear sheets soon!

I will be doing my second glam shoot this weekend coming, on Sunday afternoon.  I'm really looking forward to it, as this one will be a lot simpler, due to some removed elements.  This shoot will include ballgowns, which I am super excited about.  Speaking of glam shoots, check out my new pic's and you'll see just a small selection of the final images from my first glam shoot.  I definitely have so much more to learn and perfect, but I'm really enjoying the journey.  I hope you are enjoying its fruits.

Keep happy and keep watching, much more exciting things to come :)

Ok, so it's been a while... I've been insanely busy editing a wedding, a boudoir shoot, family shoots, fashions shoots... You get it, right?  I'll be updating my profile now, so keep an eye out for my latest edits :)

In any case, life has been hectic.  I've taken in a 6th kitten, no you're not reading that wrong.  I'm not ashamed to be a crazy cat lady ;P  I've been (trying) to keep up to date with my 2nd year psych studies.  Family, drop-offs, friends... Are you dizzy yet?  I am.  And in between that, I'm the proud wife of an Aspie, trying to learn the guitar and also Italian.

I'm not sure why I write all of this, maybe it's catharsis?

In any case, keep happy and productive!

Til next time :)

I have spent the better part of the last few weeks planning a fashion shoot.  Much of the planning was smooth and a great pleasure.  Unfortunately, some of the planning was painful and stressful, at best.  It's sad how we can put 150% into a process and have other people come in and spoil it for everyone by being rude and selfish... but let's not spoil a fantastic story by with the little trouble that we did have.

The shoot itself was really amazing.  There were hiccups along the way, but we dealt with them with a smile.  I managed to get a few more dresses than expected, which was awesome. :)  I also had two extra models join us at the last minute, who I had to fit for dresses on site.  All of the ladies worked so hard and did a fantastic job.

I'm sure you're dying to see some of the images from the shoot... Well, you'll have to wait a little while!  I have 7 sets of work to edit before I get there.  Keep watching this space.  Great things are happening and as I learn from my experiences, things will only be better.

So far this year, things are looking good.  I've been sticking to the 365 challenge (although, we're only 17 days in, so I guess time will tell) and created some fun images.  I've also been preparing to do some awesome, fun shoots (if this rain ever lifts... -_-).  I've even managed to get a glam dress store and a nail technician involved.  Now to see if I can find a hairdresser and a make-up artist...

So here's where I am.  I've been taking pictures for as long as I can remember.  However, we live in an age of technology, so I guess most people have been.  I think the only difference really is passion.  I'm passionate about people (and strangely enough, clouds), so I love to photograph them.  At first it was just a fun thing and slowly it evolved.  Now I want to capture things, moments.  A deep, private thought etched on a face, love, the persons soul and also, who they, at their best, could be.  I want to capture dreams and hopes.  I've been reading a series called Fast-Track Photographer and... WOW!!! It's amazing!  I feel as though I finally understand where I'm going and how to get there.  I don't want to be like any other photographer (and who is anyway?), and this book has just helped me to understand who I am and to develop my style.

Here's what I've realized:  I want to capture Cinderella moments, but times have changed, and I am a product of that, as are you.  My style reflects this.  So, I'll be capturing modern, edgy Cinderella moments and somehow, hopefully, be able to keep my images, my art, a timeless, elegant piece...

Hi Everyone.

Wishing you an awesome new year and all that jazz.  This is my first journal entry, so please forgive me if I'm not any good at this stuff ;P...  I'm not good at keeping things like this up to date, so hopefully I can convince myself to write here at least once a week...

I've issued myself a challenge this year... The 365 day challenge.  This is a fun challenge that thousands of photographers take on all over the world.  A lady runs a blog (fatmumslim.com.au) and posts a list of themes to take photographs of throughout the year.  Everyday has its own theme (today is 'Something Beginning with the Letter 'T'')... Wow... What a challenge it has been so far.  The pictures are easy enough to take, but, I want to do something different and creative, not like everyone else. Right? Right.  Those of you that know me at all will know that I aspire to be an out-of-the-box thinker, sometimes to my own detriment.

So, I'll be posting my pic of the day (excuse the pun) everyday, if I remember.  Hopefully they get more and more creative and, even more hopefully, you enjoy them.  Got some awesome ideas up ahead and I'm planning a veeeery cool waterfall shoot soon.  ;)

Ciao for now!!!
